German Red Cross
With close to four million members, the German Red Cross is the third largest Red Cross society in the world. The connection of a name, symbol and color is unique. Also, the red cross emblem, under the Geneva Conventions, protects personnel in armed conflicts. The corporate identity, therefore, needs dignified usage.

The German Red Cross has a federal constitution, which makes it a great challenge to manage its brand. During the redesign-process, we focussed on the different members, volunteers as well as full-time employees and their media competences. The project’s goal was to develop and implement a practical, user-friendly corporate design guideline in order to streamline and stengthen the brand identity of the German Red Cross nationwide. Within a team of two and the help of developers we created the platform styleguide.drk.de ↗. The result is Germany’s first major and extensive online styleguide for a non-profit organisation.
